As a specially selected design company for exhibiting at Maison & Objet in Paris, we were tasked with designing a booth that, while primarily showcasing our new lighting collection, also needed to serve as a unique backdrop for our creations. In this particular approach, we focused on utilizing geometrical elements that appear to poke and provoke, yet are soft to the touch once they are cladded onto the booth design itself, which is a very simple 7 meters by 1.5 meters space. As we prepared for one of the most prominent and largest design shows in the world, we knew that many attendees would come and converse with us about our designs.

We have always been fascinated by sound insulation panels and the way their geometry is designed to absorb and reflect sound. In this instance, we custom-made burgundy pyramidal spikes with the aid of a particular supplier, which predominated the interior walls of the exhibition booth.

Once the desired aesthetic was achieved, the booth itself appeared as though many spikes were protruding towards the visitors, with our collection of lighting showcasing against the seemingly uncomfortable background. The installation's modular components were dyed in our company's representative color, burgundy.

During the event, we had over 1,000 visitors who were captivated by the spiky enclosure. This, in turn, sparked conversations not only about our lighting installations but also about the booth itself as a complementary backdrop to the entire experience. Despite the high noise levels of the event space, our booth remained in near silence as most of the reflective sound was absorbed by the modular panels.

Within this hidden conversation on aesthetics, it is evident that our designs are not only provocative but also unified into elements that can accentuate a space. We even encountered many potential clients who wanted us to recreate the entire space for their own homes in Paris.

As I always say, propagation and design based on uniqueness create great noise for our branding, and we love to continue this aesthetic thinking for any potential collaborators in the future.
