Following our success at the Maison and Objets 2019 furniture show in Paris, we were approached by the luxury resort hotel, Amara Hotel Group in Cyprus, to utilize our FLY lamp in their latest luxury restaurant endeavor: MATSUHISA NOBU LIMASSOL. This project was a collaboration between Robert De Niro and Matsuhisa Nobu, both legends in the entertainment and culinary disciplines.

The unique aspect of this project was the installation of 60 FLY lamps on the glass podium level leading to the restaurant entrance. Encased on four sides by windows, we aimed to use the reflections to create an effect of an infinite number of FLY lamps. The design philosophy was for visitors to first experience a cluster of butterflies hovering above their heads before entering the restaurant, as butterflies are considered a lucky symbol in traditional Japanese culture.

In hindsight, a unique oversight was that our installation became such a focal point for the audience that many mistook it for the main entrance to the hotel's check-in area. This inadvertently shifted the protagonist element away from the actual hotel, which, in a way, turned out to be a lucky charm!
