The GIULIA 3D Printed Recycle Plastic Artniture

The SCARPLATE began as an architectural competition study on parametric designs. In a twist of fate, I was invited to display these "building models" in a design shop in Beijing, reimagined as plates. I personally spray-painted them with unique patterns, playing with the ideology of shadow casting and window elements within the competition's building design. I recall creating ten of these so-called "weird plates," despite doubts about their uniqueness. It is fascinating how architecture can influence product design and vice versa, with different design disciplines often inspiring each other. Sometimes, it all comes down to scaling. In this case, the initial approach of a building was scaled down to become a usable complement. Although I did not win the design competition, the plates now reside with someone who enjoys them, adorned with an apple and an orange.
