NO ONE CAN EVERTELL YOU THE EXACT SHAPE OF A CLOUD. IT SEEMS TO MOVE AND TRANSFORM IN CONSTANTMOTION. CLOUDI WAS CREATED AS AN OPTICAL ILLUTION THAT WHEN YOU MOVE AROUND IT,IT SEEMS TO TRANFORM. THIS IS ALL DONE VIA SEVERAL PREFORATED METAL PANELS OVERLAYINGON TOP OF EACH OTHER. NOT ONLY THIS BUT EACH PANEL CAN ALSO PURIFY THE AIRAROUND.
While founding members of SUGO Kevin and Giulia was lying on the beach sunbathing in the Italian summer, above were clusters of clouds that blocks the scorching sunlight while providing periods of shade. As they look up both thought about using this natural element as their next inspiration. When one thinks about lighting it immediately conveys illuminating a space. Both Kevin and Giulia wanted to create an abstracted shading system while also directing illumination, a dichotomy in functionality. Several laser cut perforated metal panels is sandwich within a LED light tube. Through SUGO understanding of optical illusions in their architectural and interior background, when such materials are superimposed over each other, it will create a sense of transformation during the action of motion in perspective distortion. This is the unique quality of CLOUDI as apart from lighting up a designated space it also provides shadow motion and material transformation in one package. Nature and our planet are always evolving, and this creation carries over these qualities into any interior spaces. SUGO considers CLOUDI an inspirational offspring of RAIN lamp and can work in combination as an illumination art installation entity.
