While the founding members of SUGO design, Kevin and Giulia was lying on the beach sunbathing in the Italian summer there are momentarily flocks of clouds that blocks the scorching sunlight while providing them with periods of shade. As they look up both thought about using this natural element as their next inspiration but reversing the functionality of what lighting is for a home. When one thinks about lighting it considers illuminating a space but Kevin and Giulia wanted to provide an abstracted shading system while also directing illumination with integration on playing with the transformation quality of shadows. Two laser cut perforated steel panels of identical shape is sandwich within a LED light tube in its center. Through the design team’s vast understanding of optical illusions in their architectural and interior project, when such material is superimposed over each other, it will create a sense of optical illusion and transformation during the action on walking towards and around the design. This is the unique quality of CLOUDI lamp as apart from lighting up a designated space it also provides shadow motion and material transformation in one unique package-just like a cloud which is never static and always transforming. Nature and our planet are always evolving and this design carries over these qualities into any interior spaces. SUGO design considers Cloudi lamp an inspirational offspring of their RAIN lamp as a collection that celebrates water and air that is the most vital elements on our planet.

All SUGO lighting sculptures are integrated with the latest generation of Photocatalytic Environment Cleansing Technology that can permanently eliminate all strands of Corona Virus | 99.9% Bacteria | Industrial Pollutants activated only with natural light and circulating air. Our technology is all tested and certified in Italy and Thailand using our own Italian In-House Scientific Research Team and we are the world first company to employ this technology into groundbreaking artwork.
